Frequently Asked Questions

  • You might be wondering if online counselling is as effective as face-to-face therapy. The answer is yes. Research and numerous studies show that online therapy can deliver outcomes comparable to in-person sessions, with similar levels of quality, accessibility, and client satisfaction. The flexibility of online sessions allows for personalized support in a comfortable and familiar environment.

  • Many extended health benefit plans offer partial or full coverage for services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) or Registered Social Worker (RSW). I hold both designations, which may be covered under your plan. It is up to my clients to check with their insurance provider to confirm the specific details of their coverage and reimbursement options.

  • My practice does not offer direct billing to insurance companies. However, after each session, the client’s credit card is charged and a detailed receipt is sent which can then be submitted to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a trauma-informed approach that helps the brain process distressing memories so they feel less overwhelming over time. It can be especially helpful for anxiety, trauma, and experiences that feel “stuck.” I offer EMDR therapy in Coquitlam as part of a gentle, paced, and collaborative process.

  • Yes, I offer counselling in both English and Farsi. Many clients find it meaningful to express themselves in their first language, and I’m honoured to provide Farsi counselling for individuals across British Columbia.

  • The first session is a space for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, your goals, and what support might look like for you. You’re welcome to share at your own pace—there’s no pressure to go into anything before you feel ready.

  • Yes, I work with many caregivers and professionals who are used to being “the strong one” for others. Therapy can be a space where you don’t have to hold everything alone, and where we can focus on your needs, boundaries, and emotional wellbeing.

  • Yes, I offer couples counselling for partners navigating communication challenges, conflict, emotional disconnection, trust concerns, intimacy issues, and major life transitions.
